Zachary Simpson

Zachary Simpson is Professor of Philosophy and Religious Studies at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma, specializing in contemporary continental philosophy, philosophy of religion, and science-religion dialogue. His research examines how individuals and communities create and reinforce beliefs through art, ritual, and community practices.

Simpson's work addresses modernity's paradoxes, exploring how constructed ideals shape human fulfillment while acknowledging their critical deconstruction. His forthcoming book 'The Paradoxes of Modernity: Creating Belief Through Art, Community, and Ritual' analyzes modern identity formation through narrative and ritual practices.

Research interests include philosophical approaches to self-deception, the role of fiction in belief formation, community as belief-generating structures, and theological re-envisioning in contemporary thought.
