Zachary Savich is an Associate Professor and Division Chair in the Liberal Arts division at the Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA). He holds an MFA from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, another MFA from the University of Iowa, and a BA from the University of Washington. His creative work focuses on poetry and nonfiction, with publications including the poetry collections Momently (2024) and Daybed (2018), and the memoir Diving Makes the Water Deep (2016).
Savich’s awards include the Iowa Poetry Prize, Colorado Prize for Poetry, and CSU Poetry Center's Open Award. His work appears in journals like American Poetry Review, Boston Review, and Georgia Review, as well as anthologies such as Best New Poets. At CIA, he teaches courses including Writing I, Writing II, Writing + Community, and Creative Writing Senior Seminar.
