Zachary P. Hohman

Zachary P. Hohman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Texas Tech University. He holds a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Claremont Graduate University (2012). His research focuses on the intersection of group processes/intergroup relations and attitudes/persuasion, particularly how social groups influence self-conception, health behaviors, and physiological responses. He currently leads the Social Identity and Intergroup Health (SITH) Lab.

Education: Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Claremont Graduate University (2012). Research interests include identity dynamics, self-uncertainty, risk-taking, and biological correlates of social processes. He teaches graduate courses on Group Processes, Attitudes, and Multivariate Analysis, and undergraduate courses in Social Psychology and Statistics.

His publications span topics like leadership prototypicality, dehumanization patterns, stress physiology, and political extremism. He has advised multiple graduate students who now hold academic and research roles. His work integrates cognitive, social, and physiological perspectives to explain health behaviors and intergroup dynamics.
