Yvonne-Marie ROGEZ

Yvonne-Marie ROGEZ serves as a Lecturer in Legal English at the University of Paris-Panthéon-Assas, where she also holds the position of Deputy Vice-President in charge of the European University and Exchange Programs. She is affiliated with the Languages Center and the Law & Humanities research center at the university.

Her research interests span a diverse range of topics at the intersection of American law, literature, and social issues. ROGEZ has developed significant expertise in constitutional law (particularly regarding abortion rights following the Dobbs decision), facial recognition technology regulation, homelessness and property rights in California, and the literary works of Cormac McCarthy. She also explores post-apocalyptic representations in media and consumerism in American culture.

ROGEZ's scholarly output shows clear thematic progression, with recent work focusing increasingly on contemporary legal challenges in the United States, particularly surveillance technologies and reproductive rights. Her publications span both legal journals and literary studies venues, reflecting her interdisciplinary approach. She has maintained a consistent publication record since 2006, with particular productivity in recent years (2020-2024).

As an academic leader, ROGEZ has organized international conferences annually since 2018 examining American presidencies (both Trump and Biden administrations), co-organized the 2022 international conference "Reading the Face: Legal, Ethical and Aesthetic Perspectives on Facial Recognition," and participated in numerous academic conferences worldwide. She serves on the university's academic council and research commission (since 2012) and is a member of the CERSA laboratory council (since 2019).

ROGEZ coordinates Legal English teachings in Master 2 programs and serves as Secretary General of MICEFA (Mission Interuniversitaire de Coordination des Échanges Franco-Américains) since 2022. She also serves on the council of La contemporaine (Bibliothèque, archives, musées des mondes contemporains) since 2018.
