Yuxing Li

Dr. Yuxing Li is a Professor in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She leads an integrated research program focused on B cell responses to viral infections, particularly HIV-1 and Ebola virus, with an emphasis on vaccine development, immunotherapeutics, and structural biology of envelope glycoproteins.

• Education: B.S. in Genetics (Sichuan University, China), M.S. in Microbiology (Sichuan Industrial Institute of Antibiotics), Ph.D. in Genetics (Iowa State University).

Her research explores mechanisms of protective immunity through structural and immunologic analysis of viral envelope proteins, aiming to develop broadly effective vaccines. Recent work includes designing multi-specific antibodies for HIV and identifying pan-filovirus therapeutic targets.

She has authored key publications in Nature Communications, Cell, and Science, focusing on HIV-1 vaccine design and Ebolavirus immunology. Her lab’s article trends highlight structural biology, viral entry inhibition, and cross-protective antibody development.
