Yuting Liu

Yuting Liu is a flutist and lecturer in the Department of Woodwinds, Brass, and Percussion at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester. She performs extensively as a recitalist and chamber musician globally, including in China, the United States, Canada, Austria, Germany, France, and Australia.

• Born in Beijing, China, she began flute studies at age 8 under Xiaohua Cheng and Nikola Todor Atanasov.
• Earned a Bachelor’s degree at DePauw University and two Master’s degrees at Indiana University and California State University, Fullerton.
• Principal flutist in the Rio Hondo Symphony Orchestra and Grand Forks Symphony Orchestra.
• Cooperative artist with Revival Arts and Media Ltd. (Vancouver, Canada) and Global Outstanding Chinese Artists Association (San Francisco, USA).

Her research focuses on flute performance, chamber music, and animation soundtrack interpretation, blending classical and contemporary genres. She has released two albums: Somewhere in Time (2019) and Flute Princess & Animation (2020).

• Four First Prizes at Beijing Art Festival Solo Competitions (2000–2004)
• Winner of Hong Kong Student Teacherational Music Festival Competition
• Finalist, San Diego Flute Guild Young Artist Competition
• Recipient of multiple scholarships at DePauw University, Indiana University, and CSUF
• Top Ten Audiophile Records Award for Best Instrumental Album and Best Art (2020)

As a teaching assistant at California State University, Fullerton, she contributed to music education. Her performances span prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, Mozarteum University Salzburg, and Forbidden City Concert Hall.
