Yusufcan Masatlioglu is a Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland's Department of Economics, part of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from New York University (NYU) and previously served on the faculty of the University of Michigan. His research focuses on bounded rationality, decision theory, and the theoretical foundations of reference-dependent choice, time preference, limited attention, and willpower. He has received two National Science Foundation grants for studies on limited attention and random attention, and served as co-editor of Mathematical Social Sciences (2020–2021) and associate editor of the Journal of Political Economy (2021–2024).
