Yusra Abdullahi is a Researcher and PhD Candidate at Leiden University’s Department of History and International Studies 1900-Present, affiliated with the Graduate School for Humanities. Her research focuses on African activism at the United Nations, particularly analyzing the roles of Ghanaian, Zimbabwean, and Ugandan activists in shaping the postcolonial world order. She is supervised by Associate Professor Alanna O'Malley.

Professional Experience: Prior to her PhD, Yusra advised international NGOs, UN agencies, and embassies across Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya, and Uganda on issues intersecting conflict, gender, and migration. She remains affiliated with the Humanities Institute for History and contributes to interdisciplinary research initiatives.
