Dr. Yurun Cai is a tenure-track Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing, specializing in aging research through her work in the Department of Health and Community Systems. Her research integrates wearable sensor technology and digital biomarkers to advance understanding of aging processes.
- Develops novel physical activity metrics using accelerometry
- Focuses on pain-cognition interactions in older adults
- Conducts clinical trials for neurodegenerative early detection
Currently teaching NUR1054 Nursing Care of Older Adults, Dr. Cai leads multidisciplinary research initiatives including her National Institute on Aging R03 project and Jewish Healthcare Foundation collaborations.
