- Ph.D. in Energy Technology (Aalborg University, 2023)
Yu's research bridges power electronics and control systems, exemplified by projects like "Harmonic Modeling and Stability Analysis of Multi-Vendor Grid-forming Wind Power Plants" (2024–2027) and "LastWind: Large-Scale Wind Integration in Ethiopia" (2023–2026). Their 2025 publications in IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics and IEEE Open Journal of Power Electronics highlight innovations in fractional-order regulators and power flow solvability for EV-integrated grids.
Recent work trends reveal dual expertise in technical energy systems and engineering education research, with contributions to problem-based learning (PBL) frameworks and academic leadership development. Notable collaborations include mentoring roles with Prof. Josep M. Guerrero and Prof. Juan C. Vasquez across Denmark, Ethiopia, and Indonesia projects.
