Yun-Ting Jang

Yun-Ting Jang is a theoretical ecologist affiliated with Umeå universitet. They hold a postdoctoral position at the Department of Plant Physiology (Umeå Plant Science Centre) and an additional affiliation with the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics. Their research focuses on modeling ecological sustainability and economic viability in multi-trophic circular farming systems. They are part of IceLab and the Umeå Plant Science Centre.

Education: Ph.D. in theoretical ecology from Lund University’s Department of Biology. Thesis focused on using theoretical models to explain biodiversity patterns across spatial scales, incorporating eco-evolutionary dynamics like competition, predation, dispersal, and adaptive radiation.

Research interests include sustainable agriculture systems, eco-evolutionary modeling, and CRISPR-based plant engineering. Current work emphasizes converting waste energy into high-quality produce via multi-trophic models. Publications span biodiversity theory and plant genetic tools.
