Dr. Yuan Mei is an Associate Professor in Physics and Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Texas at Arlington. His research centers on three pillars: computational approaches to complex physical phenomena, engineered systems with emergent behaviors, and discovery of new physical principles. Current work includes CMOS-integrated nano-sensor development through his SNR Laboratory.
With a PhD in Astrophysics from Rice University and background in biophysics and fundamental physics, Mei's interdisciplinary approach spans quantum computing, neutrino detection, and machine learning applications. He teaches graduate courses including Methods of Applied Physics and supervises student research projects.
