Yu Sun Chung is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Kean University. Her research focuses on the intersection of adolescent development, neuroimaging, and psychopathology.

Dr. Chung investigates how pubertal development influences reward-based decision making, immune function, and sex differences in brain mechanisms. Her work employs multimodal neuroimaging tools (fMRI, ERP) and integrates hormone/experimental methods, with a particular emphasis on conditions like schizophrenia and depression.
She has contributed to understanding reward processing and anhedonia in both healthy adults and clinical populations, previously conducting Cognitive Behavioral Group Therapy in South Korea. Her methodological interests include functional connectivity and urban stressors.
Dr. Chung teaches courses in Functional Neuropsychology, Lifespan Development, and Introduction to ERP.
