Yu Rim Kim is a Lecturer in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at Santa Clara University, within the College of Arts and Sciences. She teaches Spanish language and Latin American cultures, with prior teaching experience at Stanford University and the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on modern and contemporary Latin American literature, transpacific studies, race, ethnicity, and the Asian diaspora, particularly examining Far East representations in Latin American modernist poetry and short stories of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Education: M.A. in Iberian and Latin American Literatures and Cultures from the University of Texas at Austin. Expected completion of her Ph.D. in Iberian and Latin American Cultures at Stanford University in 2025.
Her courses include SPAN 2 (Intro to Spanish & Spanish-Speaking Cultures II), SPAN 3 (Intro to Spanish & Spanish-Speaking Cultures III), and SPAN 135 (Colloquium: Latin American Culture).
