Yu Jing is a Teaching Professor of Cello at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, National University of Singapore (NUS), and a Visiting Professor at Shenyang Conservatory of Music. She joined YST in August 2024 after a storied career spanning performance, education, and creative writing.
- Education: Studied at Shanghai Conservatory of Music's affiliated high school under Professors Xia Jinglu and Lin Yingrong. Furthered studies in Germany with Markus Nyikos at Berlin University of the Arts.
Research interests center on cello pedagogy, orchestral performance, and innovative educational storytelling through music. Her award-winning children's book *The Lost Piao Piao* integrates music, literature, and creativity, inspiring critical thinking in young audiences.
- Performance: Associate Principal Cellist of Singapore Symphony Orchestra since 1997, celebrated for technical mastery and artistic expression.
