Yu Gan

Yu Gan is an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology and Director of the Intelligent Imaging and Image Processing Lab. His NSF CAREER award-winning research develops AI and computer vision solutions for medical imaging challenges. With PhD training at Columbia University, Gan's work spans holographic rendering for telerehabilitation, cardiac tissue segmentation, and cancer biomarker discovery.

Research foci include:

• AI-driven medical image interpretation and enhancement
• Real-time 3D reconstruction for rehabilitation
• Weakly supervised learning for clinical annotation

Publications demonstrate innovation in adapting computer vision architectures for healthcare applications, particularly in cardiovascular imaging and motor rehabilitation. Recent patents cover robotic trunk support devices and holographic patient rendering systems.
