Dr. Yu Cong is a Professor of Accounting at the School of Business and Management (SBM) at Morgan State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from Rutgers University (2004) with a minor in Information Systems. His research focuses on accounting information systems, environmental management practices, XBRL technology, and the impact of emerging technologies on auditing and financial reporting. Dr. Cong has published extensively in journals such as Journal of Information Systems, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, and Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting.
His recent work examines the effectiveness of operational environmental management practices, cloud computing strategies for start-ups, and the role of XBRL in improving financial disclosure accuracy. He has also explored corporate governance’s influence on environmental performance and executive compensation dynamics. Dr. Cong’s research frequently integrates technology trends, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making frameworks.
