She serves as Senior Advisor to the Provost for Global Scientific Initiatives, enhancing the University’s international scientific footprint.
- Research focus: understanding the origin of mass in fundamental particles (W boson, top quark, Higgs boson).
- Principal Investigator (PI) of the University’s accelerator research group.
- Current work on the ATLAS experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
- Co-led the CDF experiment at Fermilab’s Tevatron (2004–2006) and served as Fermilab Deputy Director (2006–2013).
She champions equity, diversity, and inclusion in physics as co-chair of the Physical Sciences Division’s EDICT team. Her career has been shaped by international collaboration, which she emphasizes as critical for large-scale particle physics projects. Awards include recognition in Discover Magazine (2000) and Crain's Chicago Business (2008).
