Yonatan Miller serves as Assistant Professor of Hebrew and Judaic Studies at the University of Connecticut and is a core faculty member of the Center for Judaic Studies and Contemporary Jewish Life.

Miller's research spans the first millennium of Jewish biblical interpretation from the Hebrew Bible through the Cairo Geniza, with specialized focus on post-destruction literature concerning the Israelite priesthood, material history of ancient Jewish texts, and epistemological frameworks in ancient Judaism. His expertise encompasses Jewish Reception of the Hebrew Bible, Second Temple Literature, Rabbinic Literature, Interreligious Studies, Bible as Literature, and Translation of Classical Jewish Texts, examining how canonical texts were interpreted across historical contexts.
Current projects include authoring the monograph "Rewriting Priestly Authority in Late Antiquity" and co-editing "Motifs in Biblical Literature: Contours, Critiques, and New Horizons" (forthcoming with T&T Clark). His translation of Mishnah Yoma appears in the Oxford Annotated Mishnah, with additional articles forthcoming in Harvard Theological Review and multiple edited volumes. Prior publications feature in Journal of Ancient Judaism, Jewish Studies Quarterly, and Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception.
Miller actively presents at Society of Biblical Literature and Association for Jewish Studies national conferences, regularly participates in international symposia, and is frequently invited as a speaker in Jewish communal settings.
