Yolanda R. Smith

Yolanda R. Smith, MD, MS is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan Medical School and faculty member of the Reproductive Sciences Program. She joined the University of Michigan faculty in 1995 and currently serves as Research Director for the NICHD-sponsored Women’s Reproductive Health Research (WRHR) Career Development Program.

Research Focus: Neuroendocrinology, with emphasis on ovarian aging and impaired glucose metabolism effects on women’s health. She leads initiatives to enhance clinical research capacity through the WRHR program and collaborates with the Center for International Reproductive Health Training.

Professional Leadership: Active in multiple organizations including the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
