Dr. Yoga Rabindranath is a Senior Lecturer in General Practice at the Jeffrey Cheah School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Monash University Malaysia. He is actively involved in teaching, research, and leadership, with a strong focus on primary care, preventive health, digital health, and non-communicable diseases. He supervises PhD students and contributes to curriculum delivery across all undergraduate years.

His research interests center on diabetes self-management, digital mental health (MIND-FUL initiative), obesity interventions using natural therapeutics like Marantodes pumila, food addiction, and behavioral change. He developed the Integrated Behavioural Model for Diabetes Mellitus (IBM-DM) and is building a Transnational T2D Digital Observatory. His work bridges qualitative and quantitative approaches, with emphasis on health services research, health psychology, and preventive medicine.
The 15 most recent publications reflect a consistent focus on diabetes, obesity, mental health, and digital health interventions. They include questionnaire development and validation, clinical trials on herbal therapeutics, epidemiological studies on food addiction and TB reactivation, and explorations of healthcare worker motivation. The research spans instrument development, behavioral assessment, phytotherapy, and digital screening tools.

Dr. Rabindranath actively supervises PhD students and has secured research grants, including from the National Institute of Health Malaysia. He has served as a grant reviewer for the UK’s NIHR and holds external roles such as Co-Supervisor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Research Collaborator at UCSI University. He is the Asia-Pacific Representative for WONCA’s Working Party on Research and contributes to editorial boards of journals including Journal of Primary Care and Community Health and Health Services Research and Managerial Epidemiology.
He founded PRIMED (2010–2020), a primary care research network, and in 2025 launched Full Circle Solutions, a multidisciplinary clinical research partnership. He is also the editor and key contributor of the international, evidence-based GP handbook Screen, Diagnose, Manage and Monitor (Springer-Nature, 2025), which provides algorithmic clinical decision support for primary care.
