Yngvar Kjus

Yngvar Kjus is a Professor of Music and Media at the University of Oslo, affiliated with the Department of Musicology. He leads the PLATFORM research project (2021–2025), funded by the Research Council of Norway, exploring digital audio workstation platformization and music production transformations. Previously, he directed the MUSEC project (2018–2021) on music streaming economics and copyright. His research focuses on music-media intersections, technology's role in production/distribution, and cultural policy. Key interests include mediated music experiences, digital platforms, and gender dynamics in production technology.

Education & Background
Kjus holds a PhD in cross-media production (2009) and has worked as a Senior Adviser at the Norwegian Arts Council, Media Authority advisor, and NRK analyst. His postdoctoral work investigated live music mediation in the Sky & Scene project.
