Ylva Fernaeus is an Associate Professor in Interaction Design at KTH Royal Institute of Technology’s Division of Media Technology and Interaction Design, and a Digital Futures Faculty member. Her work focuses on tangible/embodied interaction, design philosophy, and sustainable technology. She leads the HumanScatter research project on batteryless human-powered communication. Active at KTH since 2010, she also collaborates with Umeå Institute of Design. Research interests include hybrid crafting, material-centric design, and energy-efficient systems.
