Yin Wang

Yin Wang is an Associate Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department and Affiliate Professor in the School of Freshwater Sciences at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (UWM). They hold the Lawrence E. Sivak '71 Professorship, recognizing their contributions to environmental engineering.

• Education: BS in Environmental Science (Peking University, 2008); MS and PhD in Energy, Environmental, and Chemical Engineering (Washington University in St. Louis, 2011–2012).

Research focuses on advanced materials for environmental applications, including PFAS removal, emerging pollutant treatment, and water treatment technologies. Specific interests include nanomaterial design, contaminant fate/transport, and electrochemical processes.

Recent work emphasizes PFAS remediation via functionalized clays and membranes, catalytic degradation of oxyanions (e.g., chlorate), and understanding corrosion effects on antibiotic resistance in drinking water systems.
