Yifan Li is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Syracuse University's Department of Art and Music Histories within the College of Arts & Sciences. His research focuses on modern Chinese art and visual culture, emphasizing transnationalism, transmediality, materiality, and ecological dimensions of art. He is currently developing a book project analyzing the politics and aesthetics of infrastructure campaigns in the early People’s Republic of China. Li has collaborated with North American museums, including co-curating China’s Southern Paradise: Treasures from the Lower Yangzi Delta at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
Before joining Syracuse, he earned his PhD from The Ohio State University and completed training across mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Canada. His interdisciplinary work bridges academic and curatorial practices, reflecting a global perspective on art historical studies.
