Yi Liang

Yi Liang serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at the University of Arkansas College of Engineering, holding dual appointments as Director of the Experiment Station (DREX) and Cooperative Extension Service (CES) specialist. Since joining the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture in 2007, she has developed practical environmental management technologies for poultry producers across industry sectors.

Her educational foundation includes a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from China Agricultural University, followed by a PhD from the University of Alberta. She completed postdoctoral research at Iowa State University and served as a USDA/ARS research scientist before joining academia.

Dr. Liang's research centers on sustainable poultry production systems, with emphasis on mitigating aerial emissions from housing facilities, optimizing indoor air quality, and understanding livestock-environment interactions. Her work bridges engineering solutions with animal physiology to address ammonia emissions, heat stress, and energy efficiency challenges in modern poultry operations.
