Yetrib Hathout

Yetrib Hathout is a Professor and Graduate Director in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Binghamton University's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He holds a PhD and MS from the University of Burgundy. His research focuses on proteomics applied to biomedical sciences, biomarker development, and mass spectrometry. He leads efforts to translate biomarkers from bench to bedside for neuromuscular diseases like Duchenne muscular dystrophy and Lyme disease. His lab develops standardized mass spectrometry methods for non-invasive biomarker discovery and therapeutic target identification. Hathout previously served as a tenured Associate Professor at Children's National Health System and George Washington University.

Research Interests: Bio-analytical mass spectrometry, proteomic studies of human diseases (neuromuscular disorders, cancer), biomarker development for Lyme disease, and clinical/translational research. His work integrates multi-omics approaches to understand disease mechanisms and improve diagnostics/prognostics.

Articles focus on biomarker discovery for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Lyme disease pathogenesis, and applications of proteomics in inflammatory and genetic disorders. Recent studies emphasize serum and urine proteomic profiling, pharmacodynamic biomarkers, and translational research.

Labs/Teams: Leads the Pharmaceutical Sciences Proteomics Core at Binghamton, collaborating with the Tick-borne Disease Research Center. His work is funded by NIH grants and industry partnerships.
