Yannitsiotis Yannis is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Anthropology and History, University of the Aegean, specializing in the social and cultural history of urban space in 19th-20th century Greece, gender history, history of work, and cultural memory. He earned his PhD from the University of Athens in 2001 with a thesis on the social history of Piraeus and holds a DEA in social and economic history of Europe from the University of Pantheon-Sorbonne I. His academic work bridges history and anthropology.
