Yannick Poitelon

Yannick Poitelon, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Albany Medical College in the Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics. He co-leads the Myelin Laboratory with Dr. Sophie Belin.

Dr. Poitelon specializes in the cell biology of myelinating cells, with expertise in genetics, neuromuscular disorders, and axon-glia interactions. His work pioneered the study of mechanobiology in myelinating glial cells using in vitro systems. His research complements Dr. Belin's studies on human inherited demyelinating neuropathies via humanized mouse models.
