Yangxuan Liu

Dr. Yangxuan Liu is an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural & Applied Economics at the University of Georgia, part of the College of Agricultural & Environmental Sciences. She is based at the Tifton Campus, located at 311 H.H. Tift Building. Dr. Liu holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University (2017 and 2011, respectively), and a B.S. in Economics from the University of Macau (2010).

Her research focuses on agricultural risk management, finance, and precision agriculture technologies, with a specialization in cotton production systems. She evaluates economic and risk aspects of agricultural practices and emerging technologies to enhance sustainability and profitability. Her extension programs address cotton marketing, farm management, and agricultural policy issues at state and national levels.

Key research trends include analyzing irrigation efficiency, cover crop utilization, trade policy impacts (e.g., Chinese tariffs), and precision agriculture applications. Dr. Liu has collaborated with global organizations like the Rural Education Action Project (REAP) in China and contributed to international forums such as the Global Forum of Leaders for Agricultural Science and Technology. She aims to advance interdisciplinary research and extension programs to support Georgia and global cotton industries.
