About
YangYang is an Associate Professor at Xiamen University's Department of Chemistry within the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. With a PhD in Applied Chemistry from Xiamen University (2018) and previous experience as Associate Professor at Guangdong University of Technology (2018-2021), YangYang leads research in advanced battery technologies at Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory.
Research focuses on electrochemical energy storage systems including:
- Fast-charging lithium-ion batteries
- High-safety aqueous zinc-ion batteries
- In-situ electrochemical characterization methods
- Novel electrolyte and interface engineering
- Materials design for metal anodes
Recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on zinc-based battery systems, with innovations in interface modification, electrolyte design, and anode protection. Research consistently targets performance enhancement in energy density, cycling stability, and low-temperature operation across lithium-ion, zinc-ion, magnesium, and sodium-ion battery platforms.
Laboratory affiliations include the Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory where YangYang conducts experimental research on next-generation battery systems. Current work focuses on developing sustainable battery technologies with improved safety profiles and longevity.
