Dr. Yang Yang is an Associate Professor at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), leading the 3D Millimetre-Wave and Terahertz Circuits and Antennas group. He holds roles as Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques and Chair of IEEE MTT-S Technical Committee TC-17. His research focuses on advanced manufacturing techniques for RF devices, including 3D-printed antennas and terahertz applications.
Education: PhD (2013), MSc (2008), MEng (2007) from Monash University, Australia. Prior roles include Research Fellowships at City University of Hong Kong and Macquarie University.
Research interests span microwave theory, additive electronics, and biomedical RF applications. He has published over 240 papers (h-index 40) and secured grants totaling millions, including ARC projects and industry collaborations with Nano Dimension. Awards include CST Award 2018 and IEEE Chapter Awards (2022-2023).
Grants include the NSW Space Research Network project on self-deployable CubeSat antennas and ARC grants for multi-material antenna arrays. He advises the Australian Space Agency on satellite technologies.
