Yang Deng is Professor in Earth and Environmental Studies at Montclair State University's College of Science and Mathematics, specializing in water treatment technologies and environmental resilience. He holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from University of Miami.
Research focuses on:
- Ferrate-based water treatment systems
- PFAS removal technologies
- Disaster-resilient water infrastructure
Current NSF-funded projects investigate hurricane impacts on coastal water systems. Recent publications advance electrochemical treatment processes with particular emphasis on nutrient management and contaminant degradation pathways.
