Yan Xinyong

Yan Xinyong (Hsin-Yung Yen) is an Assistant Research Fellow at the Institute of Biological Chemistry, Academia Sinica in Taiwan. He specializes in structural biology and mass spectrometry, focusing on G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) and their interactions with lipids and ligands.

Research Focus:
Yan's lab uses native mass spectrometry to study GPCRs, particularly their structural dynamics, lipid interactions, and ligand binding. His work bridges membrane protein biology and drug discovery, with emphasis on neurological GPCRs and disease-related signaling pathways.

His recent work includes high-impact studies in Nature Chemistry, Nature Methods, and Science Advances, where he pioneered methods to capture GPCR-lipid and ligand interactions using native MS and integrative structural biology.

Industry Collaboration:
From 2017 to 2021, Yan was Founder and CSO/Director of Biology at OMass Therapeutics in Oxford, UK, applying his research to drug development pipelines targeting GPCRs.
