Yalin Chen is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Languages & Cultures at Smith College. She teaches Chinese language courses at multiple levels and integrates technology into her learner-centered pedagogy. Her work focuses on enhancing language acquisition through digital storytelling, authentic learning, and project-based approaches.
- Education: B.A. in Chinese Literature from National Taiwan University, M.A. in Teaching Chinese as a Second/Foreign Language from National Kaohsiung Normal University.
- Research Interests: Technology in language teaching, learner autonomy, constructivism, scaffolding, zone of proximal development (ZPD), and authenticity in language learning.
