Yajun Mei is Professor of Biostatistics at NYU School of Global Public Health. His research spans sequential analysis, change-point detection, machine learning, and clinical trial design with applications in biomedical science and public health.
Education includes Ph.D. in Mathematics from Caltech (2003) and B.S. in Mathematics from Peking University (1996). Previously co-directed the Biostatistics, Epidemiology, and Study Design program at Georgia CTSA. Honors include Abraham Wald Prizes (2009, 2024), NSF CAREER Award (2010), and ASA Fellowship (2023).
Research develops statistical methods for streaming data analysis, personalized medicine, infectious disease surveillance, and clinical trial optimization. Recent work includes adaptive sampling strategies and error control in high-dimensional inference.
