About
Yajing Shi is a Researcher at the Institute of Molecular Plant Biology within the Department of Biotechnology and Food Science at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU). She is based at Muthgasse 18, 1190 Vienna and holds an M.Sc. degree.
Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms in plant biology, particularly:
- Plant development processes
- Cell polarity regulation
- Arabidopsis thaliana genetics
- Molecular signaling pathways
She is currently involved in the Austrian Science Fund (FWF)-supported project 'PIN polarity control by Arabidopsis WAV3-type proteins' (March 2024-February 2028), working under project lead Luschnig Christian. This research investigates fundamental mechanisms controlling plant growth and development through polarity proteins in the model organism Arabidopsis.
As part of BOKU's research community, she contributes to the institute's mission of advancing molecular plant science through experimental research and collaboration.
