Dr. Yael Benn is a Senior Lecturer and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion co-lead at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research bridges cognitive neuroscience, social psychology, and clinical applications, focusing on numerical cognition, information processing, and digital behavior change interventions. She holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Strathclyde and a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Sheffield.
Benn's work examines how numerical information processing affects decision-making and health behaviors, with projects including smart algorithms for behavior monitoring, numerical deficits after brain injury, and digital food environments. She serves on editorial boards for Scientific Reports and Frontiers in Neuroscience, and holds memberships in the Mathematical Cognition Society and British Association of Cognitive Neuroscience.
