Y. Palamut

Y. Palamut is a Researcher at the University of Twente, affiliated with the Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences (BMS) in the Entrepreneurship, Technology, Management (ETM) department. His work focuses on design research for healthcare, particularly in improving cystic fibrosis management through innovative product and service design.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, where he designed a product family (wearables, packaging, and a mobile application) enabling young adults with cystic fibrosis to implement neuromuscular electrical stimulation treatment at home. He completed a Master's degree with a thesis titled "Improving the Experience of Living with Cystic Fibrosis: A Study on the Design of Products and Services Used in the Management of the Disease".

Palamut's research explores how design addresses unmet patient needs and enhances human-technology interaction in chronic disease contexts. Key areas include healthcare design, medical device innovation, and user-centered solutions for cystic fibrosis management, emphasizing hygiene, accessibility, and patient autonomy.

His involvement in the EU-funded "D.Doc" project produced an Open Educational Resource for doctoral design education across 34 Erasmus+ countries, demonstrating his commitment to advancing design research methodologies and educational frameworks internationally.
