About
Professor Xujuan Zhou is a faculty member at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), holding a Professorship in Information Systems within the School of Business. She joined UniSQ in 2016 as a lecturer and has since developed key courses in Information Systems at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Her teaching excellence is recognized through awards such as the 2019 Dean’s commendation for teaching and the My Star award. She holds a PhD from Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
Her research focuses on AI, machine learning, health informatics, and data science, with notable projects including cancer recurrence prediction, automated cancer detection systems, and AI-driven chronic disease detection. She has secured over $500K in grants, including the AQIRF ($480K) and UniSQ’s Research Capacity Building Grant ($15K). She is an editorial board member and Lead Guest Editor for a Q1 journal.
Prof. Zhou leads research in the Centre for Health Research (CHR) and Centre for Heritage and Culture (CHC). Her supervision excellence was acknowledged with the 2020 BELA Award. She actively contributes to academic leadership, including roles in editorial boards and the 2023 Senior Women’s Academic Development Program.
