Xosé L. Pastoriza Rozas is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy and Anthropology at the University of Santiago de Compostela. He holds a Doctorate in Philosophy from USC, an MSc in NGOs & Development from the London School of Economics, and a Master in Local Development. His research focuses on Galician philosophy, nationalism, historical memory, and development cooperation, with a particular emphasis on 20th-century political networks and cultural resistance.
He is a member of the HISPONA research group and the Chair of Historical Memory at the University of A Coruña. His work includes biographical studies of key Galician intellectuals like Xaime Isla and Ramiro Isla, as well as analyses of public policy in development cooperation. He has collaborated with institutions such as the Galician Institute for International Analysis (IGADI) and the Isla Couto Foundation.
Prof. Pastoriza has authored and edited numerous books and articles on Galician history, including Xaime Isla Couto: Raíz e Utopía de Galicia (2015) and analyses of Galician cooperation policies. His research bridges historical scholarship with contemporary issues of global citizenship and sustainable development, reflecting his commitment to interdisciplinary and socially engaged scholarship.
