Xingguo Cheng is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. His research focuses on toxicokinetics/toxicodynamics of endogenous chemicals and xenobiotics, particularly the roles of nuclear receptors (AhR, CAR, PXR, PPARα, FXR, Nrf2) and drug transporters (MDRs, Mrps, OATPs) in drug/nutrient disposition. He investigates mechanisms of perfluorochemicals, heavy metals, herbal medicines, psychoactive drugs, and Fgf21 pharmacology.
Dr. Cheng holds a PhD in Toxicology from University of Kansas Medical Center, with prior degrees from Wuhan University (M.S. Molecular Biology/Zoology, B.S. Biology). His work is supported by university grants, industry funding, and private research funds. He teaches courses like Toxicology Biochemistry and Analytical Methods in Toxicology.
