Ximing Ruan

Dr. Ximing Ruan is a Senior Lecturer in Strategy & Operations within the Department of Law at the Faculty of Business and Law, University of the West of England, Bristol. With a background in IT and construction, he transitioned to academia after earning an MBA and a PhD in Project Management from Northumbria University. He joined UWE Bristol in 2012, following four years at Robert Gordon University in Scotland.

• PGCert HE (Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education)
• Professional qualifications: APMP (Association for Project Management Membership), PQ (Project Management Practitioner)

His research focuses on project management frameworks, including inter/intra-organizational coordination, knowledge integration, strategic partnerships, and procurement systems. His work bridges knowledge management with human resource implications and explores social network analysis applications in project environments.

Scientific Awards and Recognitions:

• Fellow of the Association for Project Management (FAPM)
• Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA)

He supervises Masters and PhD research in areas such as SMEs, Information Systems, and Cross-Cultural Management. A recent grant recipient, he contributed to the £800,000 Deconstruction and Recovery Information Modelling (DRIM) project funded by EPSRC/Innovate UK (2016-2018).
