Xiaoshi Li is an Associate Professor in the Department of Linguistics, Languages, and Cultures at Michigan State University. Her research focuses on second language acquisition, sociolinguistics, and intercultural communication, particularly in the context of learning Mandarin Chinese. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas, San Antonio, and has extensive teaching and research experience in both China and the United States.
Her work examines how learners acquire sociolinguistic competence and navigate cultural variations in language use. She also explores applied linguistics and pedagogical approaches to Chinese language education.
