Xiaochen Shen

Xiaochen Shen is a Research Scientist and Postdoctoral Associate at the Center for Space Physics, Boston University since May 2018. He holds a Bachelor's and PhD from Shandong University (China), supervised by Prof. Quanqi Shi, with thesis work on magnetospheric ULF waves and particle responses to solar wind disturbances.

Research focuses on magnetospheric plasma wave dynamics, including ULF, EMIC, whistler mode, and chorus waves. He collaborates with the Dept. of Astronomy, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical and Computer Engineering at BU.

His recent contributions include studies on solar-terrestrial boundary dynamics and space weather phenomena, as highlighted in BU's public-facing articles on lunar telescopes and CuPID CubeSat missions.
