Xiangzhong Luo

Xiangzhong Luo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the National University of Singapore. His research examines climate change impacts on terrestrial ecosystems using remote sensing, eddy covariance data, and ecosystem modeling.

Research focuses on:

• Dynamic vegetation responses to climate change
• Carbon-water cycle interactions
• Machine learning applications in ecosystem science

Recent publications analyze photosynthetic quantum yield, palm oil yield sensitivity, and global crop yield mapping. Research advances understanding of plant trait-environment relationships and ecosystem-climate feedbacks.

Teaching includes courses on Earth surface processes, environmental change, and earth systems science. Leads the EcoFunc Research Group developing novel approaches to monitor and model ecosystem functions.
