About
Xian Mallory is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Florida State University. Dr. Mallory's research focuses on developing computational techniques for analyzing large biological datasets to understand cancer and biological phenomena, leveraging combinatorial optimization, statistical inference, and machine learning methodologies.
Her research explores two primary directions: Structural Variation Detection (developing tools like HySA and OMIndel for identifying DNA variations) and Cancer Heterogeneity Deconvolution (using bulk and single-cell sequencing to analyze cancer evolution). She currently teaches Bioinformatics and Machine Learning courses.
Dr. Mallory is currently enrolling PhD students with strong mathematical and programming backgrounds. Her work has contributed to several genomic analysis tools and collaborations with research institutions like MD Anderson Cancer Center.
