Xi Zhu

Xi Zhu is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Chinese at Pacific Lutheran University's Humanities Division, where he teaches courses in Chinese language and pre-modern literature. Concurrently pursuing a PhD at the University of Washington, Zhu's research focuses on the Classic of Odes (pre-300 BCE), examining its manuscript traditions and the absence of authorship concepts in early Chinese culture. His dual status as an instructor and doctoral student informs his teaching philosophy, emphasizing approachability and shared learning experiences with students. Zhu bridges Western linguistic methodologies with Chinese textual analysis, leveraging digital resources to work internationally.
