Xi Peng

Dr. Xi Peng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer & Information Sciences at the University of Delaware, and a resident faculty member at the Data Science Institute. He leads the Deep Robust & Explainable AI Lab (DeepREAL), focusing on advancing Safe Machine Learning Systems (SMLS) through dual-correct predictions, trustworthy rationales, and reliable generalization across domains like healthcare and autonomous systems.

Education: Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rutgers University (2018).

Research emphasizes foundational ML safety, explainability, and causal reasoning. His work addresses critical challenges such as model generalization beyond training data and ensuring predictions align with true causal factors.
