Xavier Sanz is a researcher at the Catalan Institute of Chemical Research (ICIQ), specializing in sustainable catalysis and renewable materials. He holds a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV) and completed his Ph.D. in 2015 under the supervision of Drs. Elena Fernández and Carles Bo. His doctoral work focused on the experimental and theoretical design of selective catalytic systems in organoborane chemistry, supported by a URV-ICIQ interdisciplinary grant.

Research interests include developing polyols and polyurethanes from renewable sources, as well as advancing catalytic methodologies for sustainable chemical processes. Xavier contributes to ICIQ’s core research areas in energy and materials science.
